Angry, I mean, Cross Media

Given what you know about stories spread across lots of platforms (computer, TV, film, consoles, mobile phones...) and arts types (IF, locative arts, serious games, telematic arts etc), with varying relations (backstory, detail, next plot point, sub-plot, possible world etc.) find examples of where this has been done. It can be a spin-off TV series, anything persits the storyworld in some way.

Also, Blast Theory are running the same locative arts game we spoke about this weekend. You can play online. I've posted details about it on my other blog.

World of Warcraft is one of the bigest inline games at the moment. This site is a collection of fanart from the game. These have alot of effort put into them.

Hello All,

Yes, alot of cross-media is franchises, but there is also the opportunity to create stories that move across media: a story starts in a book and continues online. It doesn't have to be a marketing scheme.

Also, Hard Tofu, what you're talking about is 'convergence': when devices can have all modes (text, sound, video, interactivity etc). Cross-media is about moving the audience from one device or platform to another (so from a mobile phone to the TV).
