Dramatic Gameplaying
First up, here is a link to the talk I told you about by Henry Jenkins (where he discusses what happened when he had to defend computer games in court): Games and Storytelling Lecture Series. There are a whole lot of talks there I think some of you will find very interesting. A description of the talks and speaker is available on the main site.
Second, feel free to discuss any ideas that come up from the lectures. A lot of the issues I cover in class don't have answers, or at least, answers haven't come up for alot of them. Hamed has already jumped in.
You can check out more works, too, in my online listing.
Third, given what you know about interactive works, and in particular the appropriate actions as related to the goal or plot, recall a work (from sites or games...) or find one that does this well. Is it clear from the beginning what your task is and do your actions match it? Or, refer to a site or game that you think doesn't do this well.
